ABOUT THE SCMS

The Sapphire Coast Music Society is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to showcasing classical music of outstanding quality to members and supporters living in and around the beautiful Bega Valley. The society presents a number of concerts during the year featuring artists from Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and international artists who include the Bega Valley and Narooma in their performing schedules. The Society, in conjunction with Co-Opera from Adelaide, presents a yearly opera. The SCMS in conjunction with the Bega Valley Regional Library offers a number of complimentary Twilight recitals.

Andrew Blanch, (winner of the 2016 Melbourne Guitar Festival Concert Artist Competition) and Ariel Nurhadi have been playing as a guitar duo since 2014.

They have been described as “two stunning young guitarists…virtuosic” (Sydney Arts Guide) and have been praised for their “...dazzling guitar playing” (ArtsHub).  Alchemy is something of a ‘world-tour’, featuring some of the finest music written/arranged for guitar duet, with masterpieces from France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, USA, and Australia.

The Alchemy Guitar Duo have unfortunately had to cancel their concert at Wolumla this Sunday 16 February. This was to be the first concert of 2020 for Sapphire Coast Music Society.

One of the performers has suffered an injury that prevents the duo from performing.
